LEADING THE SHIFT · FOR BANK LEADERS IN EGYPT AND THE GCC

Five programs. Each starts with the decision on your desk.

A recommendation waiting on three departments. A profile that says little about what you stand for. A 2027 plan signed for a year nobody can predict.

Leading the Shift is five short programs, 29 November to 10 December in Ein Sokhna and Cairo, each built around one of those moments.

With Prof. Simon Hayward, Prof. Robin Speculand and Tima Elhajj On your own live priority You leave with a named output: a stakeholder map, a Brand Blueprint, a 90-day plan.

Early-bird fees until Sunday 15 November.

What changed this year

And where it lands in your bank.

  • Rates

In September the CBE held rates for a fifth meeting and said inflation risks remain tilted up because of regional hostilities.

Where it lands: on the GM signing 2027 targets now and explaining the variance in March.

    EnterpriseAM, 27 Sep 2026

  • Digital banks

onebank, ezbank and Yom have CBE approval as digital banks, and since August eKYC rules allow customers to open accounts without visiting a branch.

Where it lands: on the branch manager whose targets didn't change.

    Entarabi, 20 Aug 2026 · EnterpriseAM, 25 Aug 2026

  • Fraud

The CBE's April 2026 circular puts an anti-fraud department under the Chief Risk Officer.

Where it lands: on the branch that faces the customer, and the leader who needs IT and operations to act.

Daily News Egypt, 4 Apr 2026

  • AI

Egypt's national AI framework leaves banking rules to the CBE, and they aren't published yet.

Where it lands: on the head of retail or operations whose team is asking what's allowed.

NCAI, National AI Governance Framework 2.0, Mar 2026

  • Agility

BCG studied 127 companies: 94% started agile, 53% got the results. The rest kept the old decision-making.

Where it lands: on the director whose squads still wait for three committees.

BCG, Why Companies Get Agile Right and Wrong

Each pressure has an owner. These programs are for the owners.

Program 01 · The influence shift

Leading with Influence

The fix needs risk, IT and operations. None of them report to you.

A fraud complaint that needs IT to change a control. A digital launch that needs risk to sign off. A repricing that needs operations and the branches to move together. You own the result; other people own the inputs. A three-day leadership bootcamp with Professor Simon Hayward, author of The Agile Leader, and Tima Elhajj. Day 1: influence to increase agility. Day 2: agreement across functions. Day 3: the message ExCo hears.

For: GMs, deputy and assistant GMs, and directors whose priorities cross functions they don't run; regional, area and branch leaders moving into broader roles; risk, technology and compliance leads; high-potentials in the succession plan.

Elective · The visibility shift

The Visible Leader

They've looked you up before you walk in.

Many senior bankers are well known inside their division and almost invisible outside it. Yet when ExCo shortlists for a senior seat, a corporate client chooses a banker, or a new digital bank builds its leadership team, the people deciding look you up first. Two days with Tima Elhajj to define what you stand for, say it in your own voice, and show it consistently on LinkedIn, on panels and in the room, within bank policy.

For: GMs, directors and heads of function building a profile for their next role; client-facing and relationship leaders; leaders who speak on panels, in interviews and at industry events; high-potentials preparing for visible roles.

She's on the succession plan. When the seat opens, will ExCo know her voice?

In a restructure, shortlists are drawn from the people ExCo has already heard in the room. This one-day masterclass is for women in banking leadership who have built real careers, and learned along the way to make themselves smaller to fit inside them.

For: women GMs, directors, heads of function, regional and branch managers, and women in the bank's succession plan.

Program 03 · The AI shift

Leading the AI Bank

Your customer can now open an account without a branch. The AI tool you added won't bring her back.

Since August, eKYC rules allow customers to open accounts without visiting a branch, and three digital banks have CBE approval. Meanwhile your teams may already be asking which AI tools they can use, and who decides. Adding AI to an old process, what Robin Speculand calls "AI lipstick", only speeds up the old bank. One day on the operating model behind DBS, and a draft 90-day plan for yours.

For: GMs and heads of retail, digital, operations and transformation; owners of the digital and AI roadmap; risk leads who will govern AI use.

Program 04 · The execution shift

Leading Strategy to Results

You'll sign your 2027 targets in December. By March, the year may look different.

Rates have been held for five meetings with risks tilted up. Plans built for one scenario break quietly: ownership blurs, measures arrive late, priorities compete for the same people. Bring the priority you're about to commit to. Leave with owners, leading measures and a quarterly rhythm to change course without losing the plan.

For: GMs and BU heads accountable for results; heads of strategy and transformation; PMO and execution leads.

FAQ

Do participants really work on their own priority?

Yes. Each program is built around something the participant brings from their own bank: a priority to map on Leading with Influence, their own profile and point of view on The Visible Leader and Women Who Lead Banks, their bank's assessment on the AI Bank, and one live priority on Strategy to Results. Each ends with an output they take back: a stakeholder map, a Brand Blueprint, a visibility plan, a maturity result with a bank assessment, or a 90-day plan with owners. The programs don't promise results; the output is the starting point your bank works from.

I'm a GM or branch manager. Can I nominate myself?

Yes. Use the nomination form. We'll send you a short request you can forward to HR, with the program, the output and the fee.

Who at our bank should we send?

Start from the pressure, not the person. Which pressure is on your desk? pairs each one with the leader who carries it. In a mapping call we match named leaders to programs with your HR team.

Can our bank send different leaders to different programs?

Yes. Each program stands alone, and one booking can hold places on several programs.

How does the five-program package work?

It buys one place in each of the five programs, and your bank allocates each place, so five different leaders can each attend the program that fits their role. One person can also take all five. The package fee is in Fees.

What does a VIP place add?

The four masterclasses have Standard places at USD 600 and VIP places at USD 900. The Visible Leader VIP: a one-hour Zoom consultation with Tima Elhajj after the masterclass and a LinkedIn profile audit. Women Who Lead Banks VIP: a one-hour Zoom consultation with Tima Elhajj. Leading the AI Bank VIP: a free copy of World's Best Bank. Leading Strategy to Results VIP: a free copy of Implement. Leading with Influence is a bootcamp with one level.

Which offers are there?

Leading with Influence: every second place from your bank is 50% off. Women Who Lead Banks: buy one place, get the second free, at Standard or VIP. Both apply at early-bird and regular fees, until the programs start. Online booking applies them automatically.

Can we combine the offers with the package or a coupon?

No. The package, the program offers and coupons are separate, and package places don't count toward an offer.

Can we pay by card, or by corporate purchase order?

Both. Pay online by card through XPay, or request a proposal to pay by purchase order or e-invoice. Registration is confirmed on full payment or an approved corporate purchase order.

What do the fees include?

Tuition and program materials. Cairo programs include lunch and refreshments. Leading with Influence includes the kick-off cruise on 29 November.

What about accommodation and transfers for Leading with Influence?

They are booked separately. Arrival and cruise Sunday 29 November; training Monday 30 November to Wednesday 2 December, 9:30–16:00; departure on 2 December after 16:00.

We're travelling from outside Egypt.

The four Cairo programs run at Le Méridien Cairo Airport. Flights and hotel are not part of the fee.

Can we replace a delegate?

Yes, at no extra charge. The new delegate receives a new ticket and the old one stops working.

What is the cancellation policy?

30 days or more before a program starts: 100% refund minus a 5% admin fee. 15 to 29 days: 50%. 14 days or fewer: no refund, but substitutes are welcome. For bookings across several programs, the terms apply to each program from its own start date.

What if a delegate misses a program in a series booking?

It can be taken with the next cohort, subject to seats.

Can the series run in-house?

Yes, for one bank, built around your priorities and co-branded. Fees on proposal; in-house dates can move once, free, with 30 days' notice.
